Definition
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer sciences which aims to create intelligent machines. It’s non natural and man-made. We use AI to design and program robots, medical machines, military missile and games. The plan is to use robots in medical facilities to perform an operation for surgical tasks which translate the actions of a human surgeon into robotic sequences that can be performed by the robots.
The Three Laws of Robotics
Isaac Asimov constructed a set of law which came to be known as the Three Laws of Robotics.
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
On-line Artficial Intelligence
There are examples of on-line artificial intelligence programs that can 'talk' to users. Here is an example of a conversation.
you ==> so how was your day
splotchy ==> no idea
you ==> why?
splotchy ==> can't say
you ==> what do you mean?
splotchy ==> well, that depends
you ==> on what?
splotchy ==> geez
