poll

Definition

A poll is used to gather information on how people feel about a particular subject using questionnaires that can be given to a group of people. Polls can be used for political purpose to allow people to express their opinions for example when voting takes place which is very important as a candidate is requires the majority of the votes. The result is then analysed for example using charts that can be generated using MS Excel to represent the result of the different candidates.

Polls are not only used for political reasons but for many reasons, for example website developers can generate poll that can help their clients get feedback about the usability of their website, users can be asked questions such as, how would you overall rate for my website? These can list options such as, excellent, good, ok and poor, once the users click on vote, a graph will be displayed that represent percentages of all the questions asked and you can view how users’ opinions are different.
